We are seeking a skilled Trading Data Scientist, you will collaborate closely with traders, quantitative analysts, and risk managers to develop machine learning models and algorithms that drive trading strategies. You will analyse large datasets from energy markets, build predictive models, and deploy AI-driven solutions that enhance trading performance. Your expertise in data science will help optimize risk management, market forecasting, and trading execution in fast-moving energy markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement machine learning models and predictive analytics to support trading strategies and market forecasting.
  • Analyze real-time and historical market data to identify patterns and trading opportunities.
  • Work closely with traders to optimize algorithmic trading strategies and improve decision-making.
  • Design and build data pipelines and workflows to process large datasets efficiently.
  • Implement AI solutions for risk management, pricing models, and trading optimizations.
  • Conduct back-testing and validation of models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Stay informed on the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, applying innovative techniques to trading challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models into trading platforms and automate data processes.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data science, machine learning, or AI, preferably within energy or commodities trading.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages, with experience in data science libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
  • Experience working with big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and handling large-scale datasets.
  • Familiarity with energy markets and trading fundamentals, including pricing, supply-demand dynamics, and risk management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
