We are seeking a skilled Trading Data Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing large volumes of data from various energy markets and providing insights to support trading strategies. You will collaborate with traders, data scientists, and risk managers to ensure data accuracy, build predictive models, and automate data workflows. Your expertise in data analysis and visualization will help optimize trading performance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse real-time and historical market data to identify trends and opportunities for the trading team.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance data models and dashboards to support trading decisions.
- Collaborate with traders and risk managers to assess market movements, forecast prices, and improve risk management strategies.
- Build automated processes for data extraction, transformation, and reporting to streamline trading operations.
- Perform back-testing of trading strategies using historical data to evaluate their effectiveness.
- Stay updated on market fundamentals, including supply-demand dynamics, regulatory changes, and geopolitical developments.
- Present data insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong experience in data analysis, preferably within the energy or commodities trading sectors.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, or other programming languages used for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of energy markets, including pricing, supply-demand dynamics, and trading strategies.
- Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with traders, risk managers, and other stakeholders.
