PE Global is recruiting a Supplier Development Engineer for our industrial manufacturing client based in Peterlee. The role is an initial 12 month contract and the rate range for this role is £29.72 – £40.50 p/h.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as the trusted advisor for assigned supply base through the following functional responsibilities: Assessing potential suppliers via on-site Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, Management (QCLDM) audits, driving implementation of Lean, BIQ, & APQP, continuously reviewing supplier capacity, assuring production readiness through rigorous review of supplier PPAP submission, being recognized as the expert in supplier quality.
- Provides technical expertise and leadership to the supply base in the execution of a robust quality plan within the supplier network.
- Collaborates with suppliers to assure proper process control standards are in place and continuously monitors key manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of technological developments and trends for guidance of commodity teams in advancements of design, quality, and manufacturing.
Requirements:
- Must have apprenticeship as minimum of education
- Microsoft office experience essential
- 5+ years SDE experience. Manufacturing, steel fabrication industry experience
