PE Global is currently recruiting for a Senior Economist for a leading multi-national Oil & Gas company-based France.

Duties of the role/Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare internal socio-economic research and monitor/report on external research, such as domestic and regional economic developments.
  • Analyze and assess economic data, research, and policy, presenting arguments in a clear and logical manner in line with economic theory.
  • Utilize macroeconomic models and statistical tools for scenario development.
  • Assess market conditions and report relevant insights in the area of macroeconomics.
  • Present economic data and analytics in formats easily understood by stakeholders, staff, and senior decision-makers.
  • Conduct custom economic analyses related to operational and policy issues.
  • Provide timely economic advice for various management decisions, alongside long-term analysis and forecasting.
  • Stay updated on global and domestic developments in energy, economy, and policy, and evaluate their implications for the domestic economy.
  • Provide economic training to staff involved in operations.
  • Mentor and coach junior staff to aid their professional development

Education/Experience

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in economic research and analysis, preferably with a reputable organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Operational knowledge of advanced modeling and forecasting tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong skills in producing high-quality reports, studies, and presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively with both internal staff and external stakeholders.
