We are seeking a New Energies Strategist for Renewables to support the development of our renewables and new energies strategy and business. The candidate will serve as a Corporate Advisor for topics related to renewables and new energies, providing strategic insights to various departments, senior management, and the CEO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic goals and plans for the company’s renewables and new energies business.
  • Contribute to the corporate strategy development process, specifically in crafting and updating the new energies strategy. Collaborate with other business strategists and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the organization.
  • Guide corporate consultancy projects focused on hydrogen, including developing demand and supply scenarios, technology roadmaps, and investment planning.
  • Generate and present strategic options for renewable business development and market opportunities to executive management, supported by thorough analysis.
  • Review business and investment plans in the renewables and new energies sector and lead the strategic fit assessment of key investments to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic plan.
  • Conduct periodic strategy execution reviews to track progress, identify early warning signs, and recommend improvements to the new energies strategy.
  • Independently conduct research on long-term scenarios and strategic considerations impacting the company’s competitive advantage in renewables and new energies. Prepare research and special studies for various departments and committees.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization to foster strategic thinking and ensure the company remains proactive in adjusting its strategy.
  • Maintain connections with industry experts, consultancies, and leading companies to stay updated on key developments in the new energies sector.
  • Mentor, manage, and coach junior staff.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Financial Management, or a related field is required. An advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in developing and advising on renewables projects with a major integrated energy company, renewable energy project developer, consulting firm, or financial institution is required in a strategy or corporate planning function.
  • In-depth knowledge of the latest trends in the new energies sector, including renewable market and investment trends, policy and regulatory environments, commercialization strategies (valuation, project appraisals, financing, contract structuring), technologies, and market entry strategies.
  • Experience with economic analysis and modeling tools for renewable energy portfolios.
  • Project experience in solar or wind commercial deployment is a distinct advantage.
