We are seeking a skilled Quant Analyst. This role will involve working in fast-paced energy markets, using quantitative models and data-driven strategies to support our real-time power trading operations.

Role Overview:
As a Quant Analyst, you will develop, implement, and maintain models and analytics that drive our intraday power trading and decision-making. You will work closely with traders, risk managers, and data engineers to provide real-time insights, optimize trading strategies, and forecast short-term market movements. Your analytical skills will be critical in managing market volatility and enhancing profitability in the highly dynamic intraday power markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop quantitative models for intraday power trading, focusing on price forecasting, market trends, and volatility analysis.
  • Monitor and analyse real-time market data, providing traders with actionable insights to optimize intraday trading decisions.
  • Collaborate with traders and risk managers to adjust strategies based on live market conditions, optimizing risk and return.
  • Use statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to model short-term power price movements and supply-demand dynamics.
  • Conduct back-testing and validation of models to ensure accuracy and robustness in volatile market conditions.
  • Stay up-to-date with market developments, grid dynamics, regulatory changes, and market structure to refine trading models.
  • Work closely with data engineers and software developers to integrate models into trading systems and automate data flows.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Finance, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong experience in quantitative modelling, particularly in intraday power or energy markets.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, MATLAB, or similar programming languages, and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • In-depth knowledge of power market fundamentals, including supply-demand dynamics, grid constraints, and price formation.
  • Familiarity with real-time data processing and algorithmic trading systems.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, with strong attention to detail and risk management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with strong communication skills for effective collaboration with traders and risk teams.
