Project Design Manager

PE Global is currently recruiting for a Project Design Manager for a leading multi-national Pharma client based in Tipperary. This role is predominantly based in Cork but occasional travel to Tipperary.

Overview

Project Design Manager is co ordinating the Design team for the project, broadly comprising of Engineering partner.  Managing prioritisation and on-time delivery of design deliverables to mee the construction schedule Design pull by Construction). They will also help coordinate activities in the suite team to support the design activities, workshops etc. This includes design delivery and documentation, qualification efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead the Project Design team from client side (note: engineering by External EP).
• Ensure EP are prioritising and delivering on scope per construction schedule needs, escalating issues where necessary.
• Monitor and challenge accuracy of information supporting KPI’s
• Monitor project progress and performance.
• Partner with EP, CM & CQ and other disciplines on the planning and execution of scope.
• Provide status reports to Core team and Project Management.
• Ensure all work along with the technical lead is managed in accordance with our clients procedures and best practices.
• Lead, in collaboration with EP, CM and partners the cost, risks, change management and schedule effort for design team.
• Ensure all decision, risk and action logs are kept up to date.
• Resolve cross functional issues across the suite teams or issues impacting the design team.
• Monitor the performance of the Design team (cost, effort, scope, etc.) against the project management plan and performance baseline.
• Interface with other disciplines & stakeholders to ensure the project meets business needs.
• Ensure lessons learned, changes and impact of changes are captured by all project leads for the project.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Design Manager for large capital projects managing EP teams on design, in the past (>€200M).
• Experience of scope, cost, and schedule management
• Experience of Pharma projects (€200m +)
