PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our client, a leading producer of premium air-dried pet food based in Meath. This is a permanent position that is offering an excellent salary and benefits package. The ideal candidate would come from a prepared food production management background.
Company Overview:
Our client is a leading producer of premium air-dried pet food, supplying own-label products to brands and retailers across Ireland, the UK, and Europe. Following a doubling of capacity in 2024 and significant projected growth in 2025, they are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Manager to join their dynamic team.
Role Overview:
The Operations Manager will oversee all operational aspects of the manufacturing facility, ensuring production efficiency, compliance with quality standards, and team leadership. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence in a fast-growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee daily operations of the production facility, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Lead and motivate a team of 15 employees, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with BRC AA standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce waste.
- Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet business objectives.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Quality, Supply Chain, and R&D, to align operations with company goals.
- Manage budgets, production schedules, and resource allocation to support growth targets.
- Maintain a safe and compliant working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience in food manufacturing, preferably within prepared foods or cooked meats operations.
- Proven track record of working to and maintaining BRC AA standards.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop staff.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, is an advantage.
