PE Global are currently recruiting for Irelands largest Renewable Energy Business Unit for a permanent position as an Mechanical Maintenance Technician, based at Edenderry Co. Offaly. The role will be based at Edenderry Power Plant and will report to the Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting challenging maintenance, engineering, commercial, safety, environmental, quality and personal development targets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the mechanical maintenance function to achieve maximum plant availability, efficiency and safe systems of work. Procurement of appropriate spare parts and services to enable long term asset availability, in line with budget and operation of a maintenance management system.
  • Perform long term maintenance planning on the plant mechanical equipment. Maintain a system of tracking maintenance tasks, support and use tendering processes, take part in new system testing and training.
  • Ensure maintenance plans and targets for the team are achieved safely, economically and within the environmental limits of the Plant.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis as required. Be pro-active and creative in problem solving and initiative.
  • Maintain interfaces with the owners, other interested parties, legal authorities, suppliers and contractors.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in a safe manner. Ensure the permit to work system is used and kept up to date for all maintenance activities. Promote a safe place and system of work;
  • Lead and Performance Manage your direct report(s) Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s objectives

Requirements 

  • A technical qualification such as a BEng, BSc, or an equivalent Level 8 qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field; Proven experience in power plants or heavy industries such as coal, mining, or material handling.
  • Competent IT skills and a good knowledge of a maintenance management system, including planning of preventative maintenance and reporting.
  • Experience at a middle management level, with the ability to lead and direct teams effectively; Strong communication and collaboration skills, fostering cross-functional teamwork.
