PE Global is currently recruiting for an Energy Economist for a leading multi-national integrated oil & energy company in the Middle East, that is currently seeking European talent.

Duties of the role/Responsibilities

  • Gather, structure, and analyze energy data from various local sources.
  • Develop comprehensive short-, medium-, and long-term energy forecasts for the Middle East, creating relevant scenarios.
  • Assess current and future regulations and policies, evaluating their influence on the Kingdom’s energy landscape.
  • Utilize energy/economic modeling tools and statistical software to support scenario planning, technology reviews, policy assessments, and other research projects.
  • Stay informed on key trends and emerging issues within the energy sector.
  • Review policy drafts, proposing improvements for enhanced policy impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to support strategic plan development.
  • Conduct impact studies on energy-intensive sectors to gauge the effects of the Company’s activities on national energy consumption.
  • Present analysis to corporate leaders and publish regular internal updates on key sector developments.
  • Contribute to the growth and training of junior team members through mentorship and guidance.

Education/Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field from a recognized institution. A Master’s Degree in Energy Economics, Public Policy, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in energy and policy analysis.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Expertise in creating high-quality reports, studies, and presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
