PE Global Express is currently recruiting for an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer for a leading multi-national Pharma client based in Co Sligo.

This is a contract position.

Role:

To provide support to all electrical activities and assigned multi-disciplinary projects. To maximize the performance of process and utility equipment. To ensure continual compliance with the policies relating to Personnel, Quality, Safety and Finance. To control and monitor all site electrical utilities. To actively participate in energy reduction. To manage electrical projects and ensure they are completed in compliance with European Electrical standards & ETCI rules & regulations. To liaise with European Electrical standards. To ensure the site electrical infrastructure is maintained according to industry best standards.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that the site electrical systems are designed/maintained/upgraded in compliance with European electrical standards and ETCI rules and regulations.
  • Provide leadership engineering support to all electrical related issues. Tasks include, daily trouble shooting, optimisation, cost reduction, training and coaching of electrical personnel.
  • Lead all operations relating to maintaining the Electrical network throughout.
  • Lead and coordinate the annual site Maintenance shutdown programme across the site, with key responsibility for all electrical systems on site.
  • To keep up to date with latest technologies & updates to electrical standards to enhance the electrical network
  • Act in the capacity to take responsibility and accountability for managing the team, equipment, and areas when delegated. Will engage fully with leading performance for the team metrics and driving the team forward to meet the site annual and strategic goals. Works towards motivating and positively improving the team culture with safety and quality in the forefront of all decisions.
  • Responsible for monitoring the operation of all electrical systems. Implement programs and procedures required to ensure plant maintenance is performed & reliable
  • Participate constructively as a member of the dept, keeping everyone informed and proactively share knowledge and expertise within the team.
  • Identifying continuous improvement activities and leading or participating in cross-functional teams to implement. Supporting activities in the areas of cost reduction, process efficiency and operational excellence.

 

Requirements:

Lead Contractors:

  • Directly manage the site “Electrical infrastructure program”

      This includes a team of:  Three direct reports and may change as the role progresses

  • Lead CompEX inspections headcount on site and ensure that all ATEX standards are met.
  • Lead the Apleona Electrician HC on site and drive cost avoidance.
  • Lead the Electrical project engineer to deliver projects and support the continual electrical improvement projects on site.

 

Site Support:

  • Development of project documents, Scope of works, User requirements specifications, work break down structure, project schedules, project budget tracking, project monitoring and control.
  • Project performance upon completion.
  • Electrical technical support engineer for various electrical elements of projects executed on site.
  • Ensure safety standards are achieved and safe working practices are followed at all times.
  • Follow all corporate guidelines for electrical/ instrument specifications, mechanical, civil installation activities and commissioning.
  • Lead monthly reviews for electrical PMs carried on site & ensure FM contract requirements are been met.
  • Active participation in the energy team, project manage energy projects life cycle, engage in Energy reduction through procurement, project definition & reduction suggestions.
  • To update all project related electrical drawings to reflect as build project delivered.
  • Lead and monitor ARC flash requirements on site to ensure all safety measures met
  • Lead and define protection coordination studies to provide seamless operation of all electrical protective devices on site.
  • To review electrical installs, ensure they meet the site electrical requirements.
  • To review and approve all electrical drawings on the drawing management system.
  • To review and approve site electrical permits ensuring work is completed meeting all safety requirements and according to Electrical regulations.
  • Lead reviews of maintenance reports in relation to the following systems and follow up to ensure repairs are completed and systems remain within compliance with European electrical standard requirements:

–                          LV bus couplers

–                          Power Factor Correction

–                          Active Harmonic filters

–                          UPS systems

–                    Lightening protection system

–                     Surge protection devices

–                          DCS hardware

–                          Fire alarm system

–                          Power Quality system

–                          Energy Monitoring system

–                          CCTV system

  • To actively pursue Electrical infrastructural improvement from definition to handover
  • To utilize the Electrical Power quality system to its maximum and enhance the performance of the electrical infrastructure on site.
