PE Global are delighted to be working with a leading heating element manufacturer based in West Cork to recruit a Business Development Manager to join the team. This is a full time, permanent role.

The Company

This organisation, founded in 1992, designs and manufactures ceramic infrared heating elements and systems for industrial and commercial use, including applications in thermoforming, welding, and more. With a focus on continuous improvement, the company controls various aspects of product development and has a strong international presence, exporting over 90% of its products to markets such as China, USA, and Germany.

In 2017, the organisation expanded its factory to support future growth and achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2020, broadening its customer base.

 

The Role

  • Proactively explore new opportunities, identify new potential customers, partnerships and market segments and support their development to generate additional sales.
  • Adopt a process of continuous market research and analysis, identify emerging trends, explore customer needs and develop potential future business opportunities.
  • Employ recognised sales strategies to identify and convert new customers, expand the company’s existing market reach and drive increased sales and profitability
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors and industry partners, enhance the company’s presence and generate additional growth opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain our CRM database to provide an information platform for future business development
  • Work proactively with all internal teams including Engineering and Sales and Marketing to create and identify attractive and cost-effective solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Attend industry events, conferences and trade shows worldwide to represent and promote the company and identify new business opportunities.
  • Regularly report on the progress of business development activities, sales metrics and market trends to senior management.
  • Provide sales forecasts and budgets reports to senior management as required and be part of the overall business planning process.
  • Ensure that all quotations to customers are followed through to closure and assist with developing the process of multichannel inbound enquiries & queries by phone, website, email and social media.
  • Prepare blogs and assist in maintaining website content with internal Sales and Marketing staff to enhance our audience and online social media engagement.

 

The Candidate

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales or a related role within the Heating Industry, Engineering or Manufacturing industry (Technical knowledge would be a distinct advantage).
  • Proven track record of working with technical products and B2B customers.
  • Experience of working with and managing a globally diverse distributor network.
  • Able to clearly identify, develop and implement both new and recognised successful business strategies.
  • Excellent communicator with negotiation and interpersonal skills to understand customers’ needs and offer effective solutions.
  • Confident self-starter with high commercial acumen and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Available to travel for approximately 50% of the time, within Ireland and globally, as the business requires.
  • Proficient in the use of CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to design, develop and present professional proposals and presentations to existing and potential customers.
  • Ability to manage virtual and in person sales meetings.
