PE Global are currently recruiting a mechanical engineer for a leading building services consultancy developing state of the art critical care projects in Waterford.

 

PE Global Recruitment is working with a prestigious MEP consultancy based in Waterford, currently seeking a Chartered Mechanical/Building Services Engineer to join their team.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing building services and managing a team of mechanical engineers for a public sector project.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical building services systems.
  • Manage and coordinate a team of mechanical engineers, ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Oversee procurement activities related to mechanical systems and services.

 

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer status (C.Eng) is essential.
  • Proven experience in designing mechanical building services systems.
  • Previous experience managing a team of engineers on complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes (highly advantageous).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

 

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Chartered status with a recognized professional engineering institution.

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles.
  • Familiarity with building information modelling (BIM) software.
  • Experience with energy modelling and simulation tools.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) would be beneficial.
