PE Global Healthcare are recruiting for Agency social workers in Dublin!  The positions are based in Lucan & Portane.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Care Worker to join our team, working with children who have complex emotional, behavioural, and physical needs. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering personalized care and support, helping children to thrive in a nurturing environment. You will work closely with other professionals to create and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the holistic well-being of each child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement care and placement plans tailored to the individual needs of each child.
  • Provide emotional, social, and physical support to children, fostering a safe and caring atmosphere.
  • Promote the development of life skills, independence, and positive behavioural changes.
  • Assist with daily activities, including personal care, recreational activities, and educational support.
  • Liaise with family members, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure the child’s needs are met.
  • Participate in regular assessments and reviews to monitor progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Respond to challenging behaviour using therapeutic techniques and crisis intervention strategies.
  • Keep detailed records of the child’s development, behaviour, and any incidents, reporting progress to senior staff and external stakeholders.
  • Advocate for the child’s rights, ensuring they are treated with respect and dignity at all times.
  • Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of care.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant qualification in Social Care, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children, especially those with complex needs, disabilities, or emotional difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of child development and the impacts of trauma and adversity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with children and their families.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when dealing with challenging situations.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and care planning.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.

Desirable:

  • Experience in residential care settings or specialized support environments.
  • Training in therapeutic interventions or trauma-informed care.
