My client, a reputable multinational is Cork, is looking to recruit an Accountant on a Fixed term contract basis. The role offers a progressive salary, benefits and the opportunity to work from home.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with local and international reporting standards (such as IFRS or GAAP).
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, tracking performance against these, and providing variance analysis.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with local tax regulations, handling VAT returns, and liaising with external auditors for regulatory filings.
  • Financial Analysis: Conducting detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including cost control, profitability, and performance analysis.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to streamline financial processes, automate reporting, and improve controls.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Working with other departments to gather financial data, support budgetary alignment, and provide insights to operational managers.

Required Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant Certification: ACA, ACCA, CPA, or similar qualification.
  • Experience: Typically, 3-5+ years in a finance role, ideally within a multinational environment, with knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in financial modelling, advanced Excel skills, and knowledge of accounting software and reporting tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical abilities with attention to detail and a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with both Irish tax laws and multinational financial reporting requirements.
