PE Global Healthcare are recruiting for an agency project worker in Mayo.
The position of Grade V Project Worker encompasses responsibilities which include the following:
Professional
·        To provide a range of supports to people with alcohol and other drugs related problems using the principles outlined in the National Drug Rehabilitation Framework.
·        To advocate on the behalf of the client with multiple services.
·        Be familiar with harm reduction models and interventions to address alcohol and other drugs related problems.
·        To accept and manage referrals and conduct needs assessments of clients.
·        To develop creative responses to the individual needs of clients.
·        To provide reports to the service manager on KPI’s, emerging trends, and blocks to care pathways into other service providers.
·        To work closely with other staff to develop and deliver innovative and comprehensive service to people with alcohol and other drugs related problems.
·        To advise and assist the team in the best utilisation of limited resources, in delivering a quality service.
·        To monitor and develop working relationships and interagency working with statutory HSE funded services.
·        To be involved and drive the delivery of the front line service.
·        To participate as required in professional development training programmes.
·        To perform such other duties as appropriate and as assigned by the Senior Addiction Counsellor or the Drugs Coordinator.
·        To participate in all relevant audit processes.
·        To engage in drug and alcohol education and prevention work as required.
·        To provide information and support to clients in relation to substance use and its impact on them.
·        To offer one to one and facilitate group that support the reduction of the impact of substance misuse individuals, their families, and the wider community.
·        To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
·        To raise awareness of and improve access to appropriate supports for clients.
·        To refer clients to specialist services where necessary.
·        To work as part of an integrated network of professionals supporting people affected by substance misuse.
·        To work to achieve the goals of the National Drugs Strategy.
·        To keep accurate and up to date records of work undertaken including case files.
·        To attend regular meetings with colleagues including team meetings, supervision, etc.
 
Team Working
·        To deliver services as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team.
·        To attend interagency and external meetings as and when required.
·        To develop effective working relationships with a variety of professionals in other agencies, health, social services, and education.
·        To develop supportive and effective working relationships with staff, service-users and their families.
·        To work sensitively in creating partnerships with external agencies.
·        To work with the team and with partner agencies to design and implement individual care plans.
 
Administration
·        To implement service plan and business plan objectives within area of responsibility.
·        To ensure the efficient completion of all administration tasks within your area of responsibility.
·        To ensure deadlines are met and that service levels are maintained.
·        To ensure that reports, archives, and records are accurate, maintained confidentially and readily available to the appropriate                authority.
·        To ensure line management is kept informed of issues arising.
·        To ensure that stakeholders are kept informed and that their views are communicated to management.
·        To provide administrative support for meetings and attend as required.
·        To maximise the use of technology in ensuring that work is completed to a high standard.
 
Customer Service
·        To promote and maintain a customer focused environment by ensuring clients are treated with dignity and respect.
·        To seek feedback from clients and implement appropriate changes to incorporate same, in agreement with management.
 
 
Standards, Policies, Procedures & Legislation
·        To contribute to the development of policies and procedures and ensure consistent adherence to procedures and current                      standards within area of responsibility.
·        To maintain own knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and practices to perform the role effectively and to                  ensure standards are met by own team.
·        To maintain own knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation e.g. Financial Regulations, Health & Safety Legislation,                    Employment Legislation, FOI Acts, GDPR.
·        To have a working knowledge of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards and other standards as they               apply to the role for example, Standards for Healthcare, National Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare                      Associated Infections, Hygiene Standards etc. and comply with associated HSE protocols for implementing and maintaining these          standards.
·        To support, promote and actively participate in sustainable energy, water and waste initiatives to create a more sustainable, low          carbon and efficient health service.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
  • Have satisfactory experience as a Clerical Officer in the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004.
