Automation Maintenance Engineer

PE Global are currently recruiting for Irelands largest Renewable Energy Business Unit for a permanent position as an Automation Maintenance Engineer. The role will be based at Edenderry Co. Offaly and
will report to the Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the Automation Maintenance function to achieve maximum plant availability, efficiency and safe systems of work.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure maintenance plans and targets for the team are achieved safely, economically
and within the environmental limits of the generating assets. All maintenance functions
carried out under site specific safety rules. - Recording of Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks into the maintenance management
system, ensure Preventative Maintenances and defects are completed in an efficient
and timely manner. - Modify Distributed Control System (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
automation systems as required and for new projects. Ensure that all modifications to
control systems are updated on electrical drawings, DCS drawings and to appropriate
personnel. - Ensure that the emissions monitoring system maintenance is carried out in line with
procedures to ensure maximum reliability. - Install new instruments as required and carry out modifications to Distributed Control
System or other plant control SCADA systems as required. - Carry out modification to PLC controllers as necessary in response to changes to plant
& equipment or operating philosophy. - Manage the automation maintenance team and relevant contractors to ensure delivery
of objectives and KPIs and liaise with other Plant teams to achieve objectives. Liaise
with automation contractors to ensure the automation systems are checked annually.
Requirements:
• Third-level engineering qualification and/or relevant process experience
• A minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience in Maintenance of heavy process industry or power plants
• Excellent IT skills, with a strong knowledge of Maintenance Management systems
• Ability to manage a small team of technicians.
