Estimator

PE Global are currently recruiting an Estimator for a leading mechanical contractor delivering turnkey solutions to the building services industry.

Key Responsibilities

• The Estimator will be responsible for the preparation of detailed tenders
• Conduct periodic review of work practices to identify appropriate cost saving measures
• Quantify material, plant and labour requirements for relevant projects
• Analyse sub-contractor quotations, checking inclusions and exclusions
• Negotiate prices with suppliers and sub-contractors
• Issue tender queries and prepare tender report
• Source and categorise pre-project information
• Create a procurement schedule for the project
• Prepare cost reports and detailed estimates
• Complete the final handover to the project team

The Candidate:

• Relevant degree or trade background
• A minimum of 5 years’ previous experience in Estimating with a main Building Services contractor
• Tendering experience with a knowledge or background in HVAC industry or similar would be highly desirable
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
• Experience in pricing projects, working autonomously and within a team
• Experience working towards tight deadlines and budgets
• A clear understanding of building regulations and legal guidelines is strongly preferred
• Analytical mindset
• Strong negotiation skills
• High attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and be flexible as required
• Able to promote a positive personal/professional profile
• Role will be primarily office based but will require some travel to sites throughout the country evaluating potential work
