PE Global are partnered with a leading power generation organisation to recruit a Site Set-up representative to join the team. This is a full time, permanent role, based in Dublin.

Due to the significant expansion of the renewable’s portfolio, this organisation is looking to appoint a Renewables Site Mobilisation Representative within Renewables O&M.

The role of the Renewables Site Mobilisation Representative is to represent the O&M interests of an asset owner of the new sites in the construction stage and ensure the safe and smooth transition of the project from energisation to normal operation.

This position offers candidates an exciting opportunity to join an expanding business area, gain site experience, and position themselves for future vacancies in the area. It is the intention that the successful candidate for the Renewables Site Mobilisation Representative will undertake all the mobilisation activities on the site(s) in line with business needs.

It is envisaged that this particular role will have the responsibility for the mobilisation for a number of Renewable sites. Responsibilities will be as per business needs and flexibility to adapt to these needs will be a core requirement of this role.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include the items below in the mobilisation phase: 

  • Participate in O&M design reviews, advise on O&M requirements for new sites, and provide input to design risk assessments.
  • Ensure all O&M activities on construction sites are conducted in strict compliance with Safety Rules.
  • Develop and implement Mobilisation Plans for new sites, and report on progress.
  • Develop and implement technology specific Asset Handover plans for new projects.
  • Liaison with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Completion of pre-operational take over reviews of site assets such as substation, battery energy storage systems, aeroderivative gas turbines and all other plant and equipment.
  • Carry out representative snagging inspections with a view to providing an assessment of the state of readiness of the plant for takeover at the Commercial Operations Date.
  • Management of warranty issues
  • Preparation of inspection and maintenance schedules for plant and put in place service contracts for routine O&M activities. This shall entail use of computerised asset management system.
  • Preparation of switching plans and carrying out HV switching to facilitate the operations of these sites. Perform duties and execute roles in accordance with Safety Rules as required.
  • Assisting with set up of spares and other materials required on site as part of site mobilisation.
  • Development of site-specific policies and procedures such as emergency response procedures.
  • Assist with development of local site induction for operational phase.
  • Co-ordinate O&M review of the asset safety file, and manage the transfer to O&M.
  • Acting as Site Engineer for initial period of operation of the site prior to full transfer to Operations Manager within O&M.
  • Preparation of tenders, procurement, negotiation and management of framework contracts.
  • Support optimisation of lifetime O&M and asset management planning.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects as assigned in the O&M area.
  • Provide a timely site response capability in the event of an issue developing on a site during the mobilisation phase.
  • Management of service providers and contractors onsite including performing inductions and setting to work as required.
  • Manage, administer and ensure compliance with the Safety Rules in operation. This role may involve undertaking various roles within the Safety Rules.
  • Provide an initial fault-finding capability and involvement in initial front-line maintenance as required.
  • Implement and maintain plant procedures, site policies and safety programs.
  • Compliance with safety and environmental obligations.
  • Outage and project management as required.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 The successful candidate will:

  • Have minimum 5 years work experience in operation or design or commissioning of HV equipment/generating plant.
  • Be assertive and have excellent communication skills.
  • Have a strong safety and risk management focus.
  • Be flexible and service motivated.
  • Have strong reporting and documentation skills.
  • Have ability to work on own initiative and develop and improve procedures.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours (office and on site) to accommodate site mobilisation and operational requirements.
  • Ability to work on own initiative in isolated locations

 

Desirable

  • Trained, authorised and experienced in Generation and Trading Safety Rules
  • Understanding of the commercial side of the generation business
  • Experience in front line maintenance activities

 

 Qualifications

 A Technical Engineering Qualification (preferably Mechanical / Electrical) or equivalent experience with plant operations.
