Quality Manager / QHSE Manager based primarily in Cork City, travel needed to other group sites in Ireland, UK and Europe.
Candidates must be able to commit to an onsite role with the potential for a large degree of travel to other sites.
Experience of working with moulding machines, extrusion machines and plastic producing / finishing machines.
The successful candidate will become a member of the Senior Management Team, the Quality Manager/QEHS is responsible for the coordination, planning, implementation and maintenance of the companies Quality Management System ISO9001:2015 and the Environmental Management System ISO14001:2015 ensuring that all products meet expected specifications and performance thereby ensuring customer satisfaction.
You will manage registration and coordinate with the various relevant certification bodies including SGS, BBA, CSTB, KIWA, RCS (Textile Exchange) as well as ensuring products will also meet requirements of CE / UKCA marking for building products. A key part of this role is ensure that Company will meet all regulatory requirements with respect to the Management Systems and certifications mentioned above.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage, coordinate and maintain the relevant ISO systems including the maintenance and updating of all company records.
- Manage and coordinate external audits by relevant bodies as required.
- Ensure that all internal audits for the relevant standards are carried out in a timely manner.
- Ensure retention of certification to Quality Management System ISO9001:2015 as well the certification bodies SGS, BBA, CSTB, KIWA, RCS is maintained. Ensure the certification to Environmental Management System ISO14001:2015
- Ensure that Quality and Environmental procedures are consistently applied and followed throughout the group as a whole.
- Ensure that all Quality and Environmental records are properly completed, accurate and on time.
- Manage, coordinate and maintain the relevant ISO systems including the maintenance and updating of all company records.
- Ensure relevant internal reports in support of the above audits are developed and available when required.
- Ensure that the relevant products meet the requirements of CE / UKCA marking for product specification.
- Manage product testing such as product artificial and natural weathering, fire testing of products and other relevant tests as required in support of CE / UKCA marking for product range.
- Ensure that products purchased and used to produce the final product meet the necessary quality standards.
- Maintain an incoming goods inspection system and receiving COC’s / COA’s from the relevant suppliers to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- In coordination with other relevant departments, develop, maintain and circulate relevant documentation i.e product specifications, DoP’s etc., both internally and externally to customers and other relevant stakeholders.
- In coordination with the relevant department and/or supplier initiate and implement corrective action plans to prevent the occurrence of non-conforming products and activities using the relevant systems.
- Working with the management team, develop and implement a continuous improvement process for all departments.
- In coordination with manufacturing, develop and maintain Product Quality Standards manuals for manufactured products.
- Manage the Document Control System. Develop / maintain Technical Data Sheets/Specification for manufactured products.
- The successful candidate will ensure that products meet expected specifications and performance via production line audit / reviews with support from the Quality Analyst.
- In the event of a customer complaint, review, investigate, report and recommend disposition for the complaint.
- Ensure Aspects and Impacts Register and associated documents are in place in support of the Environmental Management System ISO14001:2015
- Conduct and attend regular quality and operational meetings across the entire group in Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Drive key projects as assigned.
- Provide input on new product design and specifications.
- Provide input on new materials and specifications.
- Provide input on the continuous improvement of equipment, process and manufacturing related items

The Quality Manager will be required to carry out any other duties, which fall within
the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description. This flexibility is essential
as the type and volume of work is always subject to change, therefore allowing the
company to operate efficiently and gain maximum potential.
Key Requirements – Knowledge / Education:
- Third level qualification in a scientific or technical discipline along with a minimum of 3 years related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of Quality and Environmental Systems
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, planning and organisation skills
- Possess a significant level of IT skills
- Eligibility to live and work in the EU, fluent English, both written and spoken
- Confident, enthusiastic individual with a “can do” attitude
