PE Global are currently recruiting for a Commercial pricing analyst for a leading energy company company involved with the Irish electricity and gas market.

 

About the job

We are expanding our hedging, pricing and trading team to allow us to support an expansion into the commercial energy supply sector. As part of this expansion, we are looking for an energy pricing and hedging analyst to join our team of energy and commodity market experts.

Commercially Focused:

  • Support the production of commercial electricity, gas and heat prices and tariffs
  • Preparing of price and information for tenders/quotes for larger customers
  • Track prices offered and benchmark
  • Conduct competitor analysis and help us understand the market we operate in
  • Critique and evaluate competitor offerings, use these findings to better serve our existing commercial customers and aid in the expansion and diversity of our customer base.
  • Work with our hedging team to manage and report on price risk
  • Assist in the day-to-day trading activities of the company and partake in a rota executing trades for commercial customers
  • Work with management to produce board reports on our commercial activities and exposures
  • Produce tools to help automate new or existing business processes
  • Report activities or findings in a concise and transparent manner

Customer Focused:

  • Answering price related queries for both internal and external customers
  • Provide trading support to our customers and serve as a point of contact
  • Assist in the provision of market insights to our customer base
  • Support the commercial sales team, working closing to resolve customer queries and ensure a high level of customer experience
  • Assist commercial customers in their green energy transition by providing guidance on renewable energy solutions, including supporting Power Purchase Agreements with renewable assets and Guarantees of Origin pricing

 

 

 

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in the energy industry within supply, generation, regulation or analytical role is highly desirable but not essential if relevant skills and experience are transferable.
  • Be resourceful and proactive. We are looking for a self-starter who enjoys having accountability and ownership while being part of a collaborative team
  • Strong problem solving, analysis and attention to detail
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a necessity along with the ability to understand and develop complex excel based tools
  • Strong data handling & programming skills are highly desirable with some experience in tools such as or similar to: Python, SQL and Tableau.
  • Comfortable working with large amounts of data
  • Clear, concise and structured communication skills
  • Ability to follow, map and improve processes
  • Adaptable, flexible, able to change priorities
