PE Global is currently recruiting for a Lead Engineer for a leading multi-national Oil & Gas company based in Saudi Arabia.

Duties & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop, manage, update, and monitor the implementation of short- and long-term asset management policies, strategies, initiatives, and work plans for the power system assets, ensuring alignment with the overall Strategic Asset Management Program.
  • Manage substations by deploying the Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS) program.
  • Oversee the life cycle management process for high-voltage electrical equipment in the power systems.
  • Develop and manage contingency plans to maintain power supply during substation or facility interruptions.
  • Evaluate risk-based maintenance methodologies based on likelihood and consequences of failure.
  • Coordinate asset management plans and initiatives with operational teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and tools in risk and reliability assessment to teams involved with distribution, substation, and transmission infrastructure replacement.
  • Assist in developing reliability models using specialized software.
  • Analyze asset failure trends and perform root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurring failures.
  • Perform data analysis using techniques such as APM, RCA, and Six Sigma (6σ). Calculate and update asset key performance indicators (KPIs). Prepare monthly reliability reports (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, bad actors) and update equipment health progress while reporting failures and successes.
  • Monitor asset performance and report on technical KPIs for transmission and distribution assets.
  • Utilize SAP Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) to document and track unreliability events and identify opportunities for reliability improvements.
  • Provide technical support for field unreliability events, including equipment history and process data, intended for area maintenance teams. Review preventive maintenance (PM) defect reports and evaluate corrective actions. Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers for equipment reliability support.
  • Contribute to the development, revision, and tracking of asset management strategies.
  • Supervise the documentation and development of asset inventories for each asset class, covering asset conditions, levels of service and performance, risk profiles, maintenance strategies, repair/replacement models, financial forecasts, and tactical work plans.
  • Support the development of business cases to initiate asset replacement programs.

Minimum Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in high-voltage power systems electrical equipment, and a minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or power utility industries, with a focus on power systems reliability and asset integrity management.

  • Familiarity with reliability programs such as RCM, MTBF, and bad actor analysis, as well as SAP or similar computerized systems, is required.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), TapRooT Analyst, or Six Sigma certification.
